Laura joined the Sheridan Group in early 2020 coming to the Sheridan Group with nearly two decades of experience in communications.
Laura has led projects and organizations in the United States, U.A.E, Uzbekistan, China, and Canada. She has translated work into results in both in-house communications and as a consultant for the US Consulate, University of Calgary, and many organizations at the local level. Her leadership experience has spanned product and marketing development, virtual and traditional event planning, major giving, board strategy, and social media. Driven with her powerful blend of philanthropic and business acumen, Laura delivers results for clients who span the globe.
Her recent strategic work has tackled and solved for such issues as the ‘brain-drain’ of historically underrepresented populations of Alberta, Canada, and significantly activated donor engagement and increased funding for Operation Eyesight. Other noteworthy assignments include working with Uzbek and U.S. governments addressing literacy deficiencies in Central Asia, as well as work with local organizations in the U.A.E. supporting fair labor practices.
Multilingual in English, French, Mandarin, and Russian, her experience uniquely positions Laura as a communications consultant who delivers with a keen global perspective and her finger on the pulse of individual organizational needs.
Laura received her Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communications from Weber State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary. She currently sits on the board of directors of the Haskayne Executive MBA Alumni Alliance and is active in several community organizations. She is married to Matthew, who serves as a U.S. diplomat, and is "Mom" to three precocious teenaged sons.
